#03 Branding
Developing a strong identity…
After spending a couple of years experimenting and developing our skills in brewing, we thought it's time to stop being selfish and start sharing the beers we love so much! To do so we first had to establish a brand, a brand that represents our beliefs that we can ‘responsibly source and craft exceptional beers, whilst being part of a talented local community of producers’.
Our ultimate dream is to, one day, run a farm shop with a tap room attached to our very own brewery. We had the vision of crafting the finest beers we have to offer whilst growing our own fruit and vegetables on our farmland.
All of these creations and customer experiences should sit under one roof that emphasise where food & drink has come from - Source House.
The beers we brew are inspired by our days spent in the Peak District. After many years of exploring the peaks, with amazing experiences climbing and bouldering, we thought it would be the perfect inspiration for the beers. Each individual beer should be as unique as the experiences we had through different climbing routes at different locations, hence the name of each beer. Read more behind the story of our brews here.
To begin with our beer branding design, we started by gathering our thoughts on the routes we had climbed or had attempted to climb. We then tried to match them with an appropriate brewing method, flavour and style of beer, which then also reflected on what the route meant to us. Each route we chose was taken from a different location that highlighted the different approaches to climbing; such as sport climbing, traditional climbing and bouldering. This was then translated into a colour scheme with the chosen style of beer.
Check out the video clip below on how we then took each location and developed the branding and graphics for each beer:
