#05 Refit
New Brewing Space…
After a few months of experimenting and refining our beers, we decided that it was time to expand our brewing space and fit it out to a more professional standard. We started off by clearing the space and having a thorough clean. We carefully set-out our space to allow for additional brewing equipment planned for the near future and installed a power upgrade to make sure all equipment worked safely.
Cleanliness is our top priority in the brewing area, so we wanted to make sure all surfaces are wipeable and easily cleaned. We first painted the walls with a commercial grade epoxy paint. We then applied an anti-slip epoxy coating to the floor which would be easier to clean and prevent slipping on spills.
We have also installed a plasterboard ceiling throughout and painted it with moisture resistant paint to create an enclosed hygienic environment. By adding a high velocity wall fan we could push any vapours or steam generated during brewing out of the space to reduce moisture built-up. And to finish off, we invested in some more stainless steel work stations by adding some extra workbenches and sink stations to complete the new setup. Having a properly laid out space, fit for purpose meant brewing was easier and more efficient, meaning quicker brew days and easier cleanup!
