#08 Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival 2022

Our first Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival in 2022 left us absolutely speechless. We were surprised and dead excited when we were asked to provide beer to the Festival after only a few months of trading. We were a bit apprehensive at the time as the Festival policy was to provide Cask or Keykeg only, which we had no experience with and were worried we might not be able to brew a big enough batch with our tiny 30 litre system. After 6 months of preparation, we managed to refine our core range and brewing techniques to deliver 2 different 20 litre Keykegs.

As if there wasn’t enough pressure already to deliver 2 kegs of quality beer, the timing was crucial as well, as we were aboard for 2 weeks in the lead up to the festival. We had to organise the timings to make sure our beers were brewed as fresh as possible and kegged / labelled ready for the festival. Timing was crucial but we managed to get 2 kegs finished just days before we set off on our travels. As soon as we were back, with our jet lag still settling in, we delivered both our kegs first thing in the morning of the festival “trade day”.

The beer festival gave us the opportunity to meet some amazing people in the beer industry from across the Midlands with some familiar faces there and some new ones too. It has also broadened our customer base as we noticed there’s been a lot more engagement on our social media since. The support we have received since we started our business has been so overwhelming, with so many businesses sharing their experiences and brewers sharing their brewing knowledge. It was an amazing event to be part of and will certainly not be our last!
